6 pm-8 pm
Join us for a two-hour workshop with an opportunity to view and discuss records from the War Office and Colonial Office that speak to the multilingualism and cultural diversity of the people who became engaged in the conflict. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, a conflict that not only involved millions of people from every continent but also brought social and cultural change across the globe.
In response to this anniversary, The National Archives is reaching out to communities to explore the global impact and consequences of the conflict. The workshop will include the chance to take part in recording responses to the archival records to be shared during anniversary events next year.
This workshop will be of particular interest to those with an interest in African and Caribbean records. The National Archives will be bringing example copies of records on a range of topics intended to spark discussion and reflection.Refreshments will be provided.
