Refugee Week: Transition Living Lab Project Showcase

Thursday 19 June - 4pm 6pm

Age Guidance: All are Welcome

Join us for the showcase of an innovative new project aimed at changing the world one thing at a time! The Transition Living Lab project is a social design training program, aiming to find refugees and migrants to become community champions. TLL asks the question “what one thing would you change about the world?” and guides participants to work their ideas up into a piece of work to be presented to the public and considered by community stakeholders. What form this presentation will take: who knows? We’ll only find out once the participants have decided. It may be visual art, it may be a performance, it may be something entirely unexpected. All we DO know is that we’ll find out on 19 June, 4.30-6pm at Deptford Lounge.TLL is being run across 7 weeks in the London Borough of Lewisham and Ealing, alongside a cohort in Indonesia, with participants drawn from local communities of people with refugee/migrant status in each local area. Participants will learn from peers, academics from the University of the Arts and librarians from Lewisham Libraries:-•: • Skills to become community champions• How to research, create and present an innovation project• Creative methods: prototyping, imagining, visualising, making, storytelling, interviewing
