Exhibition Celebration & Living Queer Archive event

7 March 5pm

Age guidance: All ages welcome

Join us for the grand finale of our LGBTQIA+ History Month exhibition! As we close this month-long celebration of queer history, culture, and resilience, we invite you to reflect on the powerful stories, art, and achievements showcased throughout the exhibition.

The closing event will feature a Living Queer Archive essentially a conversation library. Volunteers with stories to share will be seated around the library and guests are able to sit down with them and ask about their story. They will have prepared topics to talk about and will have a word or object (or several) that will start off the conversation.

These volunteers are the living queer archive and share their stories so that attendees can learn about them and the queer history of our community. Optionally, guests and those sharing can record the stories, and the audios will be submitted to the Metropolitan archives.

If you would be interested in being a voice featured in this library please click ‘Apply here’ and fill in the form.

This event is a chance to engage with the artwork and stories one last time. This is an opportunity to come together, celebrate the progress made, and honour the voices and experiences that continue to shape the LGBTQIA+ community.

Length: 2 hours
