The Deptford People’s Heritage Museum invites you to a participatory workshop, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, focussing on the dispossession and legacies of Black Autonomous Spaces. Contribute your personal stories to a community archive in support of the ongoing struggle to maintain these local spaces.
The Black Autonomous Spaces project highlights how Black communities have shaped local neighbourhoods and practices of community support in Lewisham by documenting spaces.
This is a call out to African, African Caribbean, Mixed Heritage, Black community development and youth workers, organisers, and local community members in Lewisham/Deptford.
This project is funded by Untold Stories, part of the Mayor of London’s Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm and supported by researchers at Visual Cultures Department at Goldsmiths University.
