你好！Ni Hao! Goldsmiths Confucius Institute will be hosting Deptford Festival of Chinese Arts this September. Join us for an afternoon of enthralling dance, martial arts, music and cultural activities suitable for all the family.
The 30th September marks the 13th anniversary of the establishment of the very first Confucius Institute and Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance will ensure the day goes out with a bang by celebrating with an eclectic mix of Chinese-themed activities.
Deptford Festival of Chinese Arts is a day for discovery, cultural enlightenment and entertainment for the whole family. Adults and children alike will have the rare opportunity to experience the captivating beauty of Chinese crafts and performing arts by watching vibrant performances and joining in explorative workshops starting from 12 noon.
Try your hand at the ancient art of Chinese paper cutting, discover how to write beautiful Chinese calligraphy, learn about traditional Chinese musical instruments, or simply participate in a soothing Tai Chi or Chinese folk dance workshop.
Whether you have a personal connection to China, or are completely new to Chinese culture – you’ll find there’s something for everybody! The event is about community participation and we hope a diverse array of local audiences will come along to get to know one another and learn about Chinese culture by engaging in the range of free workshops on offer or just sitting back and appreciating some exquisite visual performances.
Deptford Festival of Chinese Arts is a free public event that will be taking place on the ground floor of Deptford Lounge.
